why candlight? wikipedia says:
Only this week, hundreds of Israelis hurled stones towards Palestinian cars during the holy day of atonment.
I myself recieved threats & was intimidated by fascist thugs.
I can post a whole lot more information, but this is the few links I have about events that I know of. I, like a lot of other people, hate feeling helpless,
and I belive in resilience, in the power af an individual, of a stand alone with a bunch of brave people.
We don't know what works and what doesn't work, but I feel obliged to keep trying.
Why Palestine flag?
Most victims of recent fascist attacks are Palestinians, many of them living in the west bank, and sadly do not have the privilege that we have-
to protest in front of the house of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Natanyahu. I believe that the media tries to ignore/ cover the Palestinian people's right for self recognition
among other rights and that the Jewish terrorism is encouraged by state- by the Zionist ministers who incite violence and fear, that Jewish terrorism is another mean of ethnic
cleansing, "to persecute arabs until they leave". Placing this flag (using my priveleges as an Israeli woman ) in west Jerusalem is my way to recognize Palestine and Palestinian people,
to tell the people on the streets of Jerusalem that Palestine and Palestinians do exist, and it is time to come to terms with reality and work towards a state for two people.
Hearty thanks to all those who participated!
